Registration Fee Waivers

In combination with state grants awarded by the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council’s Funding Committee, the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) will offer limited registration fee waivers for teams attending the 2013 Accountability Courts Conference May 20-22 at the Renaissance Atlanta Waverly Hotel. Three waivers for each adult felony court are available.

In addition, three registration fee waivers for each limited jurisdiction court awarded state grant funds have been reserved.

For courts not awarded state grant funds or for those planning or interested in starting an accountability court, the AOC has set aside other funds that will be allotted for waivers or partial waivers depending on the situation presented. The process for those requests are as follows.

If your court is interested in applying for this funding opportunity, please email Lateefah Thomas, Accountability Courts Program Manager, at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it by May 1, 2013 and include the following information:

1. Your court type and address

2. Date your court was implemented or plans to become operational

3. List of registered team members and their roles (individuals serving multiple roles already funded for attendance by state grant funds are not applicable)

4. Narrative (500 words or less) describing the need for travel funds, how travel funds could be utilized instead, etc.

Once received, AOC staff will review the request in accordance with our budget, determine the number and amount of fee waivers available, if any and communicate this with you. It is the AOC’s goal to support as many court teams as possible attend the conference. Once we receive all requests, we will issue the fee waiver acknowledgements. The conference participant limit has already been reached, so your team members must already have been registered.

Limited Travel Funds for Limited Jurisdiction Courts Teams

By repurposing a prior grant, the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) is able to offer limited travel funds for qualifying juvenile and family accountability court teams attending the 2013 conference. Funds are available to cover lodging and mileage as governed by the Statewide Travel Policy and the guidelines below.

[Note: Funds will permit lodging at the Renaissance Waverly Atlanta for three rooms at double occupancy. Your court must be located more than 50 miles from the conference location. https://sao.georgia.gov/sites/sao.georgia.gov/files/related_files/site_page/StateofGeorgiaTravelandExpensePolicy101712.pdf .]
