As part of its upcoming 2022 economic study, the Child Support Commission seeks public comment on the Child Support Guidelines Statute (O.C.G.A § 19-6-15) and the Basic Child Support Obligation Table that are used in calculating child support amounts. Public comments may be submitted online, via mail, or during two listening sessions that are to be held on August 26, 2021 and September 23, 2021. The Georgia Commission on Child Support consists of fifteen members, appointed by the Governor. The duties of the Commission are outlined in O.C.G.A. § 19-6-53 and include establishing and regularly reviewing child support guidelines, development and maintenance of the Georgia Child Support Calculator, recommending legislation, providing training throughout the State to judges, attorneys, and the public, and many other duties.
