Georgia State-wide Business Court Celebrates 5th Anniversary

Atlanta, GA — August 2025

The Georgia State-wide Business Court started operations five years ago, when it

began accepting filings on August 1, 2020. Five years later, it continues to contribute to

Georgia’s distinction as a great state for doing business. As Georgia’s newest jury-trial court,

it has statewide jurisdiction and travels to where venue is appropriate for any trial. The

State-wide Business Court is otherwise based in the Nathan Deal Judicial Center in Atlanta,

along with Georgia’s two appellate-level courts—the Court of Appeals of Georgia and the

Supreme Court of Georgia. Judge William “Bill” Grady Hamrick, III presides over the Georgia

State-wide Business Court.

Providing active case management and specialized expertise, the State-wide Business

Court facilitates the prompt and efficient resolution of complex business disputes, serving

small and large businesses alike from all over Georgia. The Court is “small, but mighty,” as

Clerk Angie Davis explains.

“We recently received our 124th case. It’s exciting to see the Court

continue to grow,” noted Judge Hamrick. As business entities often do, the Court lets the

numbers do the talking. The following page contains court administrative data through July

31, 2025.
